We had a great evening at the County Durham High Sheriff’s Youth awards last week . Myself and three Pilates clients were guests of Point North at the awards celebration at Hardwick Hall. The theme was Willie Wonka’s Chocolate Factory so we enjoyed a delicious chocolate fountain !
It gave us the opportunity to learn first hand how the funds we raised last summer were spent. We learned a lot about the 12 local charities that won awards ranging from £500 to £4,000. During the evning a total of £35,000 was presented to local community groups across County Durham, Darlington, Hartlepool and Stockton. Thank you very much to Michelle and Loujane from Point North for inviting us. It was an inspirational evening, knowing that such a lot of good work is being done in our community is very humbling. Our fundraising efforts last summer were certainly the easy part of the process in supporting these local charities. Please follow the link below to learn more about the evening
We sat with young people from Pelton Fell Community Partnership, the excitement on their faces when it was announced that they had won £2,500 was priceless. Listening to how much they enjoy attending the group four evenings each week made us realise how important the groups are to local young people. The Allotment Project won an award of £3,000. All these groups provide safe, supportive spaces for young people in our area. Please do follow the links to find out more, maybe it will inspire us to do some more fundraising this year or you would like to get involved personally with some of these local charities.
There will be a price increase for our classes from 1st April 2026 so please do your best to use all your Diamond 24 sessions before that date. You will not be able to book classes after 1st April 2026 using your Diamond 24 plan. Further details will be announced in March, for now please be mindful to keep up to date with your plan.
We have several spaces in morning and evening classes so please spread the word that spaces are available and ask friends or family to get in touch to arrange an initial assessment.
I am delighted to be back teaching after taking the month of January off and am pleased to let you know I am fit and well again. Thank you to all the clients who were very understanding during this time and were flexible with their bookings. Thanks to Beth, Anna, Rachel, Karen and Rachael who taught the extra classes and Tricia who covered all the admin.
I'm looking forwards to spending more time with you on my mat and hopefully we can arrange a walk again soon.
Anne
