We would like to wish you all a Happy Easter and a huge Thank you for organising your new 26 Plans.
265 new plans have been bought across the Live, Zoom and On Demand plans. It is amazing to see so many of you feeling the benefits of Pilates By Physiotherapy. I know Pilates means many different things to you all. Whether it is part of your rehab programme following injury or surgery, part of your broad fitness programme or the only exercise you do all week, engaging with each of you is an enormous privilege for myself and all the physios. Keeping our classes varied while focusing on Pilates Principles is a challenge we all enjoy. Seeing improvement in balance, co- ordination, flexibility, control and body awareness over time makes teaching the classes an absolute pleasure. We all feel we are in a very lucky position to be working with so many dedicated clients, sharing the benefits of Pilates.
I know many of you combine Pilates with other forms of exercise including HIT or Strengthening Classes, Golf, Cycling, Yoga, Running, Climbing, Ballet and Dance Classes and walking. Your feedback tells us that you feel Pilates brings improvement to these other activities.
Here are a few points to think about
Pilates focuses on
Joint alignment, Sequencing and Control.
Every repetition we ask ‘where is this coming from’
Pilates is Strength Training with a Microscope
Strength Training
Prioritises Moving Weight, Joint positions are stable but not always the main focus
Pilates excels at
Deep Core and Pelvic Stability
Postural Muscles we often ‘skip’
Controlled Mobility and Co-Ordination
Injury Prevention and Longevity
Teaching you how to feel your body working
It’s not about maximum output, it’s about quality of force.
I have been closely watching the Swans next to Elvet since early March. We have seen 4 eggs destroyed to now 3 new eggs .Today she is sitting on three eggs so fingers crossed we see some cygnets !!
If your class has been cancelled over the holiday period I hope you have booked a catch up session, there are still places left so please check the Easter Timetable and book in
I hope you all have a lovely Easter
